Dana (generosity) Practice
In the Buddhist tradition, the teachings are given freely because they are considered priceless; in the Buddhist tradition we also practice dana, or generosity, by making monetary offerings for the teachings. Dana is not payment for goods or services rendered; it is given from the heart. Your generosity is a gift that supports not just the teachers, but also the Sangha, the larger Dharma community, and your own practice.
However there is no need to give beyond your means or the symbolic value you place on what you have received, therefore the benefit you receive is valued far more than your money and finances should never be a barrier to receiving the Dharma. That said, if you are in a position to offer a donation to help support the not-for-profit activities of the group and its teachers, then we thank you for your generosity and the benefit it will help bring to others.
