Buddhist Study, Reflection and Meditation Evenings
September 20, 2022 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

BUDDHIST STUDY, REFLECTION & MEDITATION EVENINGS IN PERSON AND ONLINE
INTRODUCTION TO BUDDHISM – First Tuesday of the month
If you are relatively new to meditation and/or interested in finding out more about Buddhism, then this is a good place to start. These evenings will include guided meditations and explore some of the key themes in Buddhism. The general advice for attending these evenings is to come with an open, curious yet sceptical mind and take what you find to be useful and relevant to you in your life.
CONTINUING THE EXPLORATION (all other Tuesdays in term time)
We meet for longer meditation sessions and study a teaching by Ringu Tulku Rinpoche or other teachers. This year we will be following, Path to Buddhahood, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche’s commentary on Gampopa’s Jewel Ornament of Liberation.
“Gampopa’s Jewel Ornament of Liberation is one of the most important texts studied in the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition. Due to Ringu Tulku’s command of the English language and his experience in teaching Westerners, this commentary will surely be helpful to those wishing to understand Buddhist practice and philosophy.”
– Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche
It’s recommended that you purchase the book to help you follow along, step by step, so that you can get the most out of our exploration of this complete teaching together. However, you are also most welcome to join in when you can, take what makes sense and is useful and meaningful to you and leave aside what is less so.
Other than our regular group facilitator, Cesare (https://bodhicharya-kent.org/group-facilitator/), we also have visiting teachers throughout the year, so please check our website for updates, thank you (https://bodhicharya-kent.org/programme/).
